Hi i dont live in the uk and use my car for 3-5 days every 6 weeks when im there, i did have ecar insurance for 1 month when i was there for the summer, now that i want just 3-5 days insurance they wont quote me, ive tryed tempcover and they are no good !! all the ones ive come across wont insure me because i have 9 points.. witch is typical as they say they can insure up to 8 points... so my question to you is this do you know of any short term 3-5 day car insurance comapany's that take drivers with 9 points? its stupid that 1 or 2 mistakes leads down this poor road :P

I look at it this way. I almost if not all states, you have to be 18 to enter into a binding contract. So basically that means my son can't borrow $500 from the bank, but can be responsible for a 3,000+ Lbs. of steel on wheels. I just don't see why driving is the exception to the rule. So my friend and I were out driving his car and when he got out at a store, I hopped in the driver's seat. I have a class 5 license, so it's all legal there. We weren't speeding or doing anything illegal, we had nothing to hide, so everything was legit. However, pulling out of a four-way, an officer pulled us over because our tail lights were busted. Of course, I had no idea and basically the officer just issued a warning to my friend (he's the owner of the car, so he did most of the talking). However, the officer did take my license and took a while with it; in this time I had no idea what he was doing. There was nothing but politeness and courtesy exchanged in the end we just drove straight to the party we were headed to. At the party though, there was some guy who put his hand out to shake mine for Insurance rates going up . This guy's on an ego-trip so I had no care about what he had to say at all but now I'm kind of worried. Question: Did my insurance rates go up for driving without tail lights? I understand that, as driver, I'm fully responsible of the vehicle, but the owner was with me and so he doesn't have to be the one that gets tagged with the record for this??? Seven years ago, I got a job working overseas. I sold my car here in the US before I left. Now I have returned to the US to live and I bought a car. I was shocked at the insurance rate - the cheapest I could find for a 2013 Ford Fiesta was $1112 for six months of coverage! I asked the agent why the rate was so sky high. Well, because the assumption is that you have been driving here in the US as an uninsured motorist for the past seven years . I've been on comparison sites to see what insurance will be like on their car when I've got my full license. But the cheapest I can find is 10,000 Surely I'm doing something wrong because I thought it would be maximum 5,000! I will only do around 1,000 miles and just use it to go McDonald's ;) Seriously though does anyone know any cheap insurance companies or explain to me why it's so high? Thank you!

Trouble with my car insurance....?

I have decided to buy a Golf GTi and today looked into how much it would be to insure. I went on the compare the market and go compare and to my surprise the prices were arounf 5000-8000 and some of the bigger companies wouldn't even insure me. I'm 20 years old But i did get a quote for 2300 fully comp from PREMIUM CHOICE (which i've never heard of). SO what i'm asking is...is it really a big deal who you're insured with? and what are the disadvantage of getting insured with little known companies? My dad seems to think that these smaller companies aren't to be trusted and if you were involved in an accident they wouldn't be interested or they could go bust in 2 months and take your money. Have you got any tips on how to get around this insurance chaos? It's such a rip off.

Should I pay my car insurance premium?

I purchased a car for my daughter last August and paid the annual premium. In November the insurance company said I cancelled her coverage and they issued me a refund for the remainder of the policy year (thru July). I didn't know what the refund was for, but deposited the check anyway. I don't know what I did to cancel coverage (for just this vehicle, all my other vehicles remain covered.) I don't dispute that I must have done something.... In April I found out I didn't have coverage for this car by my accidentally calling the insurance company about another question. I asked for them to reinstate the coverage immediately. They did and sent me a bill for the full amount of the refund, plus another $176. I feel I should only pay insurance for the remaining two months on this year's policy since, if I would have had an accident, the insurance company would not have covered me. They say they can't charge me for just the remaining two months, but that they have to bill me the full amount (plus what's with the additional $176 charge?) I'm thinking that I should just go to another insurance company and get the car covered. Any thoughts?

So my predicament is this. I am a 19 year old going to college. I am a full-time student(12-14units) I really need car insurance, because I have a car and a license, but my problem is. I don't possess the money to pay for the insurance, and I live in a town where finding a job is impossible. I have about, 500 dollars saved up, but not sure how long that will last me. I live in American canyon California, I am 19, and my GPA is 3.6.

I drive my parents Grand Prix every once in a while, but i do not ever drive the ford expedition. I asked my stepfather will it be okay for me to drive back to college, he said no.
